I thoroughly enjoyed my two weeks at Valorme with Corine. She is an excellent teacher. She is very patient, and ensures that every student has the opportunity to speak. She pitches her classes extremely well, and provides an interesting variety of learning opportunities. Our group also laughed a lot, which is important! The fact that classes never have more than six students is also very good.

I've just completed 3 weeks at Valorme and I chose the right school. Corine is a delight and perhaps the most patient person I've ever met! She combines patience with an excellent sense of humour and teaching skills.
The school is in the centre of town.
Foix is just the right size - everything you need, even in winter, but not so big you get overwhelmed.
The surrounding countryside is stunning and Corinne organises excellent afternoon excursions. I highly recommend Valorme and will be back

I just finished my third two-week stint at Valorme. Foix is a wonderful and comforting small city in which to be a foreigner; Corine is particularly patient and skilled at noting where each student needs attention. Moreover, the people who choose to study at Valorme are always very "amiable" and make the classes interesting and lively. Enjoy!

In 2016, I took two month-long French immersion courses in southern France. Valorme was the one I chose to return to this year, and this time with my husband. In fact, many of the students at Valorme are returning for a second or even third time--a fact which speaks volumes about the quality of Corine's instruction.
I'm a professor of education, and I can't say enough about Corine's approach to teaching French to adult learners. The courses are offered at various levels and for varying lengths of time. Activities are varied and well-keyed to the needs of the particular learners (never more than 6) and the pace is relaxed. Corine's explanations are very clear, and she has a wonderful sense of humour. Afternoons are typically spent on excursions, so you get a chance to see quite a lot of the stunning countryside--the castles, caves with prehistoric drawings, subterranean rivers, etc. And for the weekends, there are some terrific hiking trails into the nearby mountains, as well as the charming town of Foix to explore.
I can't recommend this program enough--and yes, I hope to return for a third visit in the not-too-distant future!

I have found Valorme to be the rare program having the capacity to take advanced students to their next level. First of all, because it is rare to hear languages other than French on the street, Foix offers the ideal environment for immersing yourself in the language.
As for the school itself, classes are limited to six people, thus offering ample opportunity for oral practice both in the classroom and in the real world. Thanks to her many years of teaching French as a foreign language, Corine has a keen ear for spotting habitual errors and an arsenal of corrective exercises--written, oral and aural--with which to address them. She also takes pains to place students in groups in which they will both learn and enjoy themselves.
I can recommend Valorme without reservation.

Wonderful location in an atmospheric old town. The standard of teaching was excellent and the afternoon excursions were fun. Highly recommended. So good I will stay for two weeks next time. Thank you Corine.

I chose Valorme on the recommendation of an English friend who had gone there. I have been there three times now. Two other friends, one Norwegian and the other American/English have gone there and have also liked it very much. So put us down as Fans of Valorme!
I learned a lot and fell satisfied that I got my money's worth.
One of the advantages of Valorme is that because Corine is a solo teacher, she is not bound by a curriculum and can adapt her method and choose materials to meet students' needs...even at the drop of a hat as people's attention flags or she senses the need for a change of pace.
Because Foix is off the beaten track, fewer people speak English than in a larger city. And because it is small and everybody in town knows Corine, when they see you with her, they will know that you want to use French. (In fact, Corine avoids restaurants where the staff will tend to speak English to students.)

I can recommend the immersion course at 'Valorme' without reservation. Everything promised on the website was fulfilled, and Corine communicated with me promptly and clearly from my very first email enquiry.
I really enjoyed the lessons and found Corine to be very professional: always well prepared, approachable and able to meet the learning needs of all in the class.
Afternoon excursions were organised with consultation, and eating lunches together was an easy way of getting to know the other students as well as learning about French cuisine and manners. I was only able to attend for one week, and wished I could have stayed for a second, so I may well be back.
